Parents and Players-
What a week it has been. JV had one of the best showings I've seen yet in their match-up with Corner Canyon on Tuesday. Corner Canyon's JV team is one of the best in the State so to see our boys keep it 4-2 until the 4th quarter is amazing. They showed they could go toe-to-toe, punch for punch with one of the best. Then on Thursday they avenged that loss to PG a few weeks ago. The first outing they lost 8-1. Then the boys came out and lit it up Thursday evening to win 15-10. That's a HUGE turnaround!! Their fight inspired Varsity to compete just as well and secure that dub over PG in one of the most intense games I've ever coached. PG is a good team and for us to hang on and lock in that win was so rewarding!! Oh and let me just say: Our fans truly are the best. That was VERY CLEARLY demonstrated this past week. I'll simply leave it at that : ).
Moving Into next week, we've got A LOT planned. Here is the schedule for the coming week:

Moving Into next week, we've got A LOT planned. Here is the schedule for the coming week:
This week is a huge week for us for lots of reasons. First, every game is truly a playoff game as these games will determine whether or not we will play in the A bracket or the B bracket. Unfortunately we go off the RPI and the RPI is NOT taking into account how tough our schedule is nor is it taking into account the score differential in our games. MaxPreps has us ranked at #13. LaxPower has us at #12. UHSAA's RPI has us sitting at 19, which is towards the top of the B-bracket. We face TOUGH teams this week and we get em all at home, which can be a huge advantage to us. So let's FILL THE STANDS and get people cheering us on all week long!
Second, this week Is also a week we will be featuring our seniors. Including our managers, we have 14 seniors to recognize. That's A LOT! With heavy hearts we will bid them adieu as they wrap up their regular season. Senior Night is Friday and we will give them a send off they'll never forget.
Third, tomorrow, Monday May 3, we will have our MURPH CHALLENGE FUNDRAISER!! Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 with this fundraiser to benefit our program. Boys are being challenged to find 20 people to pledge $25 (or more) to our team to go towards equipment needs and team trainings. See the following link for more information as to when the boys and coaches will be doing THE MURPH CHALLENGE and where. We are thrilled to be ONE of only TWO places in Utah that will be official Murph Challenge Sponsors.
Fourth, we will be welcoming our K-4th grade boys to stand with us for the anthem on Tuesday. They will stand in front of us as we honor our country. They will get a team picture on the track and then proceed to the stands where they will enjoy a hot dog, chips, cookie and drink as they cheer us on in our battle vs. American Fork. On Thursday, we will do the SAME THING with the 5th-8th graders. We are aiming to get our youth hyped to join us next year and to feel a part of the bigger THUNDER FAMILY that we are.
I'm proud of all of you: Parents, Coaches and Boys. We are doing incredible things on and off the field and I am so proud of all I am seeing!!
