The theme this year (and every year) for my history classes is: "Imma show you HOW GREAT I AM!" Prior to his fight in 1974 against undefeated and world boxing champion George Foreman, Mohammed Ali gave a speech where he repeatedly said, "Imma show you how great I am!" This year, I EXPECT you to do the same. You are NOT competing with anyone else for an excellent grade. You are competing only with yourself by challenging yourself and courageously doing things outside your comfort zone(s). Wherever you are in your learning (hate it, love it, endure it, whatever!), your job is to show me HOW GREAT YOU ARE. Each of you has many gifts and talents that you bring to my class. Tap into those talents and gifts to demonstrate learning and growth to me and your classmates. You will get out of this class ONLY what you put into it. Show me...HOW GREAT YOU ARE!
This website serves as a tool for you to access the curriculum and stay up-to-date on everything we do in class. I expect you to access this website daily for announcements, assignments and to get any information you may have missed during class. Further, I have added and will continue to add links, worksheets, study guides and many other things to this webpage for your respective class that you will need to get on your own in the event you lose, misplace, throw away, or damage the ONE copy I will provide to you. After that, go to my website and print off the assignment and get it turned into me. Another great location to access resources will be on Canvas. If you ever need to get in touch with me, please fill out the form to the right and I will respond to you within 24 hours. Please let me know what class you are in and what period you have me when you send a message. I am very excited about this coming school year! I hope to instill in each of you a passion for learning and the learning process. Lifelong learning is the way to go! All of you will be lifelong learners regardless of what you do with your life or how you feel about school.
